Payment terms are the deal you offer: how much a customer pays up front, and when the rest is due. Set them once and every new quote carries them automatically — you can still tweak an individual quote before you send it.
Set your default terms
Open payment terms
Go to Settings → Payment terms. This is where you set the default that applies to new quotes.

Pick how much you want up front — a percentage (say 25% or 50%) or a flat amount. The deposit is what the customer pays to lock in the job; the rest becomes the balance.
Decide when the balance is due
Set when the remaining balance comes due — on completion is the most common for trades. Save, and you’re done.
Why a deposit is worth it
A deposit protects you two ways: it covers your materials before you buy them, and it makes a customer serious about the booking. A quote that asks for 25% up front gets taken far more seriously than one that asks for nothing.
Change terms on a single quote
Your default fits most jobs, but not all. On any quote you can adjust the deposit or due date before you send it — the change applies to that quote only and doesn’t touch your default.
Terms are locked in the moment you send. If you change your default later, quotes you’ve already sent keep the terms they went out with — so a customer never sees the deal change after the fact.
